While I was in Hong Kong I teamed up with Somewhere Nowhere and Rose NG for a shoot featured in La Monda Magazine! We trekked out with our model squad (consiting of Bbysenpai, Ruby Gloom, Aka and Kikko Lam) to Choi Hung Village - the housing estate that appears to be a pastel dream fantasy.

Hello from HK! I'm showing my boyfriend around my hometown, it's his first time so lots of sight seeing, eating and shopping! We're staying at the W for my b'day so I just couldn't resist making some pics up in here... ;p

Barter

Film roll adventures in Hong Kong! Colourful markets, clashing streets, Christmas and plenty of food. Pretty impressed with how the lighting turned out to a somewhat eerie degree.

Anyhow, Thee Oh Sees the other night was completely satisfying (if you love live music and sick gifs, be sure to check out my good friend, Kris's blog here) as I have been waiting since the floods (show got cancelled) to see them. With Das Racist, Laneway and Black Lips coming up, the holiday season, for me is well underway into the new year!

How are you extending the holiday feeling/what are you excited about season?

Darn cute right!? When a photo boothing mall is discovered who can resist...definitely not Adri, Rez nor I. Apart from the second booth we used which totally failed at life itself, I could spend years discovering the endless possibilities of glitter, sparkles and fake headbands.

Back in town

Finally got a chance to scan in my instax snaps taken at my Dad's place in Hong Kong. Sunshine, seeing a large stretch of sky and lush greenery (both rarities in a skyscraper jungle), the beach, water buffalos and two gorgeous pups.

Hope you jot down some new years resolutions, unlike myself, I genuinely can't think of anything worthwhile that I can dedicate myself to, perhaps you can lend me some ideas?

Pug Lyfe

Getting in the mood for blue denim overalls! From TLC, tupac to teenagers trapped in nightmares, how could I miss out on the fun? I saw a bunch at the ladies' market the other day, might go suss them out. Meanwhile, my black suede H&M ones will do me fine as too much denim might deem me some kind of smurf. I also got an extra embroidered mesh crop; up on the store!

I wandered around SOHO today snapping photos on my kitty cam. I love how trendy wine bars are juxtaposed against rustic Chinese herbal medicine and ingredient stores. I couldn't find some of the vintage/second hand stores that this guide mentions, apart from a few expensive antique stores and one that stocks Chanel amongst other high end labels, in Central. I've realized that rummaging for vintage bargains among charity stores just isn't on the menu here in Hong Kong, where it's seen as 'wearing dead people's clothes,' as my grandma explains. However, I did visit Retrostone which has awesome vintage inspired pieces like studded mountain man shirts and revamped fur and leather jackets (for a substantial price).

Void on entering

I like sitting in my apartment with the lights out. Neon reflections glistening into my room, an omniscient observer, the streets bustling below, peering into the opposite, above. So on and so forth, very VERY fond of big windows.

Little pink plastic bags

Just some of my highlights being in Hong Kong so far! I come back quite frequently but there is always something new and hidden to be found such as wandering down rustic alley ways and finding the tranquil man made chinese gardens housing a beautiful temple at diamond hill. I also had the chance to indulge in animal shaped dim sims and yum cha on the 101st floor overlooking Hong Kong. Seeing the mona lisa reproduced out of toast and the extravagant Barbie themed Christmas display complete with giant cupcakes made me seriously designing spaces/displays as a career.

On a quest to see the natural side of Hong Kong I was blown away by Lantau Island, the lush green wetlands, wild buffalos and quiet stretch of beach a two minute stroll from my Dad's house. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather in the afternoon perfect for a rooftop barbecue with the dogs. The space here! A three story house with a rooftop terrace and three balconies? You have got to be kidding me; where space is scarce and 600 square metres is standard for a family of four. I might be spending a week there at the end of the trip volunteering at the local vet and working in the vegie garden soaking in the sun and fresh air!

Finally, back in the bustling city, there I am dressing up in Monki and getting my hair cut whilst the hairdresser requested a ladder....
