So Spooky So Kitty Guts

For Halloween this year I'm going to be a Hello Kitty fanatic - like a stalker, wanna kill and stuff you add to my collection (just for halloween though)! My local fabric store has the cutest selection of Hello Kitty fleece at the moment. Every time I go in for supplies I have to go visit the HK section and pat it all and stare for a while... (stalker face).

More this way...

안녕히 계세요

It's funny how I get a little sad before leaving for a  holiday I've been looking forward to for so long. Things always get so good at home and then I hit that semi-depressive state of initially getting back (to the sameness of everything you come back to, those exact things you didn't want to leave in the first place but that has lost its lustre after being constantly stimulated by new and exciting things)...

...Yeah I'm TOTALLY afraid of falling in love with Korea! I'm leaving tomorrow night yahoo! Kpop, kimchi and k bbq everynight, not to mention makeup store on every single street corner, dayum. Cya later bishes!

These are photos from spending a weekend down at Byron Bay for my best friend's birthday. Beach, sun, ciders, partying and brunches at different top notch cafes (The Top Shop and Bay Leaf - highly recommended) around the area, four days straight, I could definitely live like THAT forever.

DIY: Fleecy Set

Okay I'm addicted to iMovie! So here's another short DIY tutorial viddy for a cropped sweater and skirt ensemble. I was walking through Spotlight the other day and came across this awesome unicorn fleece material, obviously too dangerous to be children's sleepwear :O...sorry kids.

It's heating up in Aus but for those of you who are on the flip side, perfect timing to get some warm comfy stuff together. For fellow soon-to-be beach bunnies, you can even choose a lighter type of material for this project (you can do whatever you like)! Quite the versatile trans - seasonal pattern I feel ;p. Enjoy!

luv aj necklace, tokyo bopper shoes, topshop socks, bag DIY here

Just as a note I got about:

  • 1.5m of material
  • 0.5m of ribbing
  • 1m elastic

This was just enough and allowed room for mistakes and redos! *But it all depends on the width of the material you choose as well. I also decided to keep the warning message, DO NOT USE FOR CHILDREN'S SLEEPWEAR, I reckon it makes it. I will also be careful around flames and thangs, okay, yes. I'll never get over ponies...

Anyway, I hope you have a crack at it, I'd love to see how it turns out for you! :)

Eurotrip

Nine cities/towns in just under 12 days, Eastern Europe seems a dreamy smudge in my books. It doesn't  even feel like it happened until I look at these photos! This is what I got on my film camera so far plus hiding behind curtains, chowing on sorbet swimming in vodka and other fun stuffs. More after the break!

✌ More after the break!

Earl's Punch

Couldn't help but look like a fruit salad in this weather! Most people I know love winter but I love summer, maybe because I'm cold blooded, or that I'm never in Brisbane this time of year to feel the heat, but more so because you dress light, drink slushies and who doesn't love summer festivities? Music festivals, pool parties, road trips, fruit punch, watermelons icy poles and crystal clear waters to dip your feet in. The only downside is trying to fall asleep without air con, in a pool of your own sweat.

neon cross earring gift from adri, asos crop, emma mulholland shorts and walart paper wallet, topshop vinyl belt, odd future watermelon socks, clear boots from blog store, deadly ponies backpack

Nothing screams summer like Emma Mulholland's neon iguana denim shorts, I fell in love with her sporty and bright, 'as bad as iguana be' collection from the get go. Squealed and ran for the credit card at work when her goodies went on sale via The Grand Social and did a rush order, lived in them since! From her grad collection till her latest, 'spaced out,'  she gets me every time, the Emma Mulholland girl never fails to look like she fell out of the internet, whether from an online coral reef of bright neons and psychedelic kaleidoscopes or an augmented reality of iridescent aliens. Trust that her clothes are always forward, unique, super fun and most of all guaranteed to make your day and other people smile.

On another note, besides trying to move as little as possible in this heat, I have been watching loads of Rocko's Modern Life, (remember that show? It used to blow my mind) and browsing though delicious summer cocktail recipes! Ty Segall's new Twins is also a great summer album, it even sounds like the hot midday sun beating down on you, hot and aggressive, can't get enough of this.

What's your favorite way of coping with the heat, favorite activities/recipes/etc? Please do share!

Tomato Smash

I get out of the house you know, even though I inhabit the skin of a vampire (sighh). Seekae, Current Rising, Twerps, Collarbones the rave and Advice from Your Mother through the Olympus Stylus Epic loaded with Holga 100 red film.

The Olympus is such a neat little guy to use, I got it from ebay, you kind of need to stalk it a little but it's worth it! I haven't been disappointed with the results so far, flash or no flash (even at night). I also need a decent film scanner so any recommendations will be appreciated!

Also need some summer projects to fill my time with (shows to watch, road tripping adventures, recipes to make), what have you been into at the moment?

27 Out

vintage floral dress, vintage boots from etsy, pony hair bag from hong kong

Woooooooo! SUMMER, or at least, Spring is here in full force. I have been buying up cute little 90's dresses off etsy and am determined to expand my chunky boot collection whilst branching out from my usual lust for solely black shoes.

What are your wardrobe aspirations for the upcoming season change?

Feet do all the work

Vintage versace jeans, self made crop, chanel lotus rouge nail colour.

Alexander Wang sandals are finally here!

Im still playing around with my wardrobe,
they look their best with really simple pieces
only because the pointed toe adds a really sophisticated
touch. Plus they have a lot of presence on their own already.
He really did design these babies purely for his collection
eg. 'must purchase more to go with the shoes (genius, master of consumption)'.
