So Spooky So Kitty Guts

For Halloween this year I'm going to be a Hello Kitty fanatic - like a stalker, wanna kill and stuff you add to my collection (just for halloween though)! My local fabric store has the cutest selection of Hello Kitty fleece at the moment. Every time I go in for supplies I have to go visit the HK section and pat it all and stare for a while... (stalker face).

More this way...

Halloweener

It's my favourite time of year again! HALLOWEEN! So what's a girl to do??? On a budget - the usual; stock up on dark eyeshadows to create a skeleton look or stick to tradition and rock little red riding hood... been there done that! So inhibitions (money matters) aside, what look would you create this halloween using your most lusted after pieces!?

I've daydreamed up a few things for y'all, and noted a few handy tips for when you're actually putting some of these together for realsies (budget friendly)...

1. Cyber Mermaid

mermaid

KTZ dress, Betsey Johnson earrings, Mario Salvucci devil fish necklace, Guerlain meteorites pearls, Essie nail polish, Chanel pearl conch clutch, Alexander McQueen shoes

Seapunk, cyberpunk, whatever the hell punk, that pearlescent is the answer. It's all about the glistening highlighted skin, coloured eyes that match your outfit and messy braided hair. Think body con or pencil skirts ladies (such as a cute bustier with this sequin number), we need to recreate that silhouette! Throw in a few statement pieces to really hone in on the fact that you rose up out of the water in a space ship submarine.

2. Vampy Vampire

vamp

Lover valentine mini dress, leather bra Etsy, Jadechiu Black Phoenix ring, Mara ring, Alexander McQueen embellished leather gloves, Marc Jacobs gold fox stole, Chanel rouge allure lipstick, Scarecrow shredders vampire fangs, Louis Vuitton patent leather cancan thigh high boots, Kissing fly phoenix ear cuff, Christopher Esber dress

Dark smouldering eyes and red vampy lips that don't quite close on your special FX fangs is key. Gnarly intimidating jewels suggest you ate a couple of dudes for breakfast, ripped out their skulls/spines for the molten metal you now wear on your dainty fingers. Vampires are kind of victorian right? Lace and boots like that really support claims you've been around for centuries...

3. Furby Raver

furby
Unif furby sweater, Topshop knitted fluffy sweater, Topshop fluffy peltmet skirt, Unif Moody shades, Fleet Ilya cat ears, furby pencil case, jeremy scott shoes, limecrime lipstick

You probably have a few furry rave things lying about, if not pop into your local fabric shop and acquire the brightest most offensive or baby pastel combination of furs and cover your chosen toe-teasers, sew a crop top and skirt ensemble. Don't forget some frames and attempt an anime eye for those high on life LCD lights.

4. Ghetto Barbie

barbie
Kiko Mizuhara in Nasir Mazhar, barbie bella two toned contacts, sretsis crop, asos lace socks, etsy denim jacket, vera wang princess, fashion union pink mini, luv aj necklace

You can simply go for Kiko's Nasir Mazhar outfit because it's just perfection or if you're just an everyday jo blow like myself, opt for lots of pink, a girly circle skirt and a cute lacey crop. Pair it with a pimped out jacket and barbie accessories! Barbie thinks she's perfect and I guess she is, so she loves wearing things out with her own face on them.

5. Corpse Bride

corpse bride

Miu Miu boots, Pamela love silver pentagram ring and cross earrings, Chanel eyeshadow palete, Manic Panic goth white makeup, bunch of black dead roses Amazon, Sretsis dress, fake blood makeup

Sretsis's AW 2013 is so perfect for Halloween, from the day of the dead to the bone collector with their capes and dark dresses, the options are endless! This particular dress is so gothic, corpse bride. Up the witchy glamour with dark hollowed eyes and black lips (you were poisoned to death, sorry), dark jewels, ghostly white skin and fake blooooooooood (said hauntingly).

Whatever you end up doing, have a good one and please do share!

☠☠☠☠

Happy belated Halloween everyone! Can you believe it's another year already!? I decided to get off my lazy ass (at the last minute) and impress a few little kids I was expecting to be knocking on my door. Armed with only eyeliner, eyeshadow, half a bag of grape jam marshmallows (yeah trick or treating isn't that popular here, plus it was the only candy we had) wine, a good friend and Nightmare before Christmas on Foxtel, we ended up having quite the successful 'spooky' night in!

I'd tell you how to get this look but I'm no makeup blogger :S. I just went at it using a few google images as reference! Start with the palest powder or talc you have lying at home, a good eyeshadow fluffy brush as well as a thin eyeliner brush for eyeshadow work would be my no.1 tip. All up took me about less than 20 mins to get together, it's really that easy so hopefully this will help you for your next dress-up occasion!

A Nightmare Before Christmas has to be one of my all time FAVOURITE movies, I haven't seen it for ages and laughed SO hard, because it was adorable but mostly because we were imagining how freaked out the kids would be in reality (or the wine). Boy am I glad I didn't miss out on my slice of Halloween action this year, it is my favourite occasion of the year afterall.

Hope you had a good one! What did you get up to/what did you guys dress up as?

Amnesia House

There was an 80s rave warehouse party on last weekend. I went 91', just couldn't resist. So I was preparing my high leg kicks and thinking everyone would be chewing gum like the video below promised. It wasn't something of "DJ CARL COXXXX!" (it will take a while before that voice stops echoing through your head after that video) proportions but at least there were smoke machines, plenty to drink, mini kaleidoscopes, daisy rings and friendly characters to keep one's raver heart content. All round good night!

hey creepy dude; lazy oaf batman sheer crop, AA disco pants, custom polka dot platforms, furby backpack from ebay.

So excited about Halloween this week! Though I might commit a slight  injustice and disappoint in the costume department...will be out at a few parties as well as Thurston Moore tomorrow night and rooftop ROLLER DISCO (jsdkfjsfksljf) as apart of Valley Fiesta (going to be massive and it's free)!

Big smiles all around, what is everyone up to for Halloween? No idea? Why not treat the occasion like april fools instead with a scary twist with the help of The Thousands cheap Hallowe’en DIY guide. It's pretty spot on and had me in stitches all morning at work!

Marshmello Yellow

Rose knit sweater, shaggy coat from beverly island mall causewaybay (HK)

Whoa I don't know what the hell but it's real glitchy...um. Here's to those anons who bitch about gifs being too much for their eyes, enjoy! My favorite thing are mini malls in Hong Kong crammed full of tiny boutiques of affordable quirky/random things. I like getting lost in them, literally, and that they are a major fire hazard if anything was to go wrong. I found the cutest mlp unicorn at this GadgetZoo the other day tucked in this mini mall with a neon TOYMART sign, in Mong Kok. They have sweet headless doll jewelery, skeleton hand hair clips and eyeball scrunchies, so halloween. I like toys, they're such a satisfying buy. Don't you think?

P.S What do you think about the new header hey heeeey? My dear friend, Jackson Hambridge, an amazing artist who's done works for metal bands brought my idea to life (better than I could ever imagine it to be). He's a dedicated and charming fellow so if you need graphic/art work done, do not hesitate to get in touch with him!

Preween

A preview of the weekend's festivities between lock down and finishing up uni for the semester! I got addicted makeup videos (suggestions for channel/videos much appreciated) again, these are a few I found easy to adapt to your own liking/wearable and not just plain scary (last one is just impressive).

Hope you're all out trick or treating right now...!

P.S Response to Anon's comment regarding said satanism posted in comments. okay. thanks.

Fathom

It's terribly awkward and slightly creepy watching those enthusiasts getting half downed by their tails or trying to rectify underwater hair problems...utterly tragic but all the more entertaining. Heheheeeeeeee. I don't know if mermaids are required to hustle (those in the videos clearly do but I am also just obsessed with this song) but what I know for sure is that summertime is upon us! Rock pools by the beach, flippers and noodles in the pool, acting like mermaids, flipping your long hair out of the water...living it up, strictly back in junior school. Such activities should not be left lurking in the past, with Halloween just around the corner! With inspiration gathered from being called a mermaid, I got the hint and found me some shells (must administer pearlescent paint and about a pound of gems, STAT). Now I just need something like this green pencil sequin skirt/this dress and/or the perfect head piece...

What are your costume ideas this year?

Hallorino

Damn it took so long but my scanner broke and I had to use up all the film. Ah...Halloween!

Anyway, I saw Saw VII in 3D the other night and it was just great! I just love those movies because most of its victims 'get themselves into this mess,' dragging down their associates and loved ones in the process. Fucking torture test their immoral rotting hearts and uneducated minds, while I chow down on this popcorn! So is the sacrificial lamb, necessary to bring out the good in humanity, (despite control through fear) justified then? You know like public hangings...
